Police Officer

The Town of Glade Spring Virginia is accepting applications for a full-time Police Officer. Certified candidates are preferred; however, non-certified may be considered. Benefits include health and dental insurance, Virginia Retirement System with Hazardous Duty Supplement, vacation, sick, and grant funded overtime pay. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age, be a high school graduate or possess a GED. Drug screening and thorough background investigation are required as a condition of employment. Candidates may be required to submit to Polygraph and Psychological screening if given conditional offer of employment. Starting Salary for a certified officer is $42,000; non-certified will be discussed. Final salary offer will be determined based upon qualifications. A successful candidate will be able to work weekends, nights, holidays, and 12-hour rotation schedules. The Glade Police Department is attempting to grow to better serve the needs of the community.
