The City of Brooklyn, Ohio, Civil Service Commission

will be accepting test results to establish an eligibility list for the position of Police Patrol Officer. The test results will be received from National Testing Network (NTN). You can access the testing site at: https://nationaltestingnetwork.com/publicsafetyjobs/index.cfm
You must create an account and follow all instructions provided by the tester in order to take the test. See NTN website for in-person testing locations.
The examination period will end September 30, 2024. NTN testing must be completed by this date. If you have taken the NTN test within the past 12 months, you can have your score reported to the City of Brooklyn. You will be charged by NTN to have your score transferred to the City of Brooklyn.
Must submit a signed application and must be at least 21 and no more than 40 years of age at the time of appointment (copy of birth certificate with application); possess a valid Driver's License; required to have a HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR GED; must provide copy of diploma from highest level of education attained; must be a U.S. citizen or have legally declared the intention of becoming a U.S. citizen; must provide proof of successful completion of a certified Physical Agility Test before appointment.
Extra Credit: Associates Degree - 3%, Bachelors Degree - 5% (credit only given for highest degree attained), OPOTA - 10%, Veterans - 10%. Veterans must verify military service by presenting Dept. of Defense Form-DD214 and proof of honorable discharge. Veterans who served more than 180 days active duty other than for training purposes and have been honorably discharged will be eligible for the credit. Extra credit will only be added to those who receive a score of 70% or higher on the written exam and all percentages are of the passing grade. Maximum extra credit allowed is 20%.
Salary will be determined based upon the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the City of Brooklyn and OPBA.
Any candidate for a position in the classified service shall be disqualified for falsifying information or fraudulent conduct of any kind in connection with a Civil Service Examination.
